Even after pictures showing the damage to the two ships was consistent with the container ship crashing into the U.S. Navy Destroyer, rather than the other way around, news outlets were reporting that the US Navy Destroyer “collided with” the container ship.
That report was considered suspect but quite in line with the establishment media’s “blame America first” habit.
After learning yesterday that the container ship was registered in the Philippines, News Guardian’s Asian correspondent informed us that she suspected the collision was purposeful and could have been carried out on behalf of China. Today, this report from American Thinker came to us and, if true, supports that theory.
According to American Thinker, they were told by the mother of a Navy serviceman received information from her son that “The container ship neither had its running lights or transponder on. That is an action taken willfully. Furthermore, for the container ship to strike with such accuracy is troublesome. Given what some have done with cars in Europe, what a feather in the cap it would be to sink a U.S. Navy warship. Think on that.”
Many reasons can be hypothesized for Chinese motive. For years, we have been reporting a considerable number of liaisons and activities by China that suggest a “coldwaresque” foreign policy being conducted by China. We will continue to update this story as information is available.
UPDATE: The Washington Post is reporting that according to Japanese Coast Guard “Marine tracking data showed the Crystal proceeding on a westward course toward Tokyo, but shortly after 1:30 a.m. it performed a sudden U-turn”
